This 8,600 acre lake is best known for its large deep water crappie taken in cold weather months. Black and white crappie up to 3 pounds plus can be taken in large numbers during these times. a short drive from Minden, Louisiana to the south, down US Highway 371 will bring you to Grand Bayou Reservoir. Only 2,500 acres, this small but productive body of water will yield black and white crappie in the 2 pound range regularly. Late winter through spring offers the best results on this lake.
